Executive Board and Supervisory Board – where everything comes together

BEOS AG is headed by a diverse team of experienced professionals who think ahead and jointly drive the company’s continuous growth under the umbrella of Swiss Life Asset Managers Germany while actively helping to shape the BEOSphere. The Executive Board is primarily composed of long-standing BEOS employees focusing on a wide range of specialist areas. Holger Matheis, Speaker of the Executive Board and development expert, has worked for BEOS since 2006. The appointment of Christina Schädler to the BEOS Executive Board in 2022 also brings the Property Management, Research and Risk Management areas together in one person at Executive Board level for the first time.

Executive Board

Development

 

Holger Matheis has been a member of the Executive Board of BEOS AG since 2016 and Speaker of the Board since 2021. He is responsible for Project Development & Construction Management, Human Resources, Legal Affairs, Marketing and Communication, Compliance and Business Transformation as well as the BEOS office in Frankfurt am Main. Holger Matheis has worked for BEOS since 2006, initially as head of the Hamburg office, later in Cologne and Berlin. He headed the working group of the alumni network IMMOEBS e.V. in Hamburg for two years and was a member of its Executive Board from 2009 to 2015. He studied architecture at the University of Kaiserslautern and worked for various architectural firms after his studies. In 2003, he completed his studies in Real Estate Economics at the European Business School. Holger Matheis is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) and lectures at several universities, including IREBS Real Estate Academy, DVFA and HTW Berlin.

Transactions, Portfolio Management, Finance

 

Jan Plückhahn has been a member of the Executive Board of BEOS AG since 2016 and is responsible for Transactions, Portfolio Management, Finance, Capital Markets and the North Region, which includes the BEOS offices in Berlin and Hamburg. He joined BEOS AG in 2003 and has worked in various divisions and held numerous roles, including as head of the Hamburg office between 2010 and 2015. Jan Plückhahn holds a degree in architecture and a Master’s of Science in Real Estate Management (REM) from TU Berlin. He is also a lecturer at IREBS Real Estate Academy.

Property Management, Research, Risk Management

 

Christina Schädler has been a member of the BEOS AG Executive Board since September 2022 and is responsible for Property Management, Research and Risk Management as well as the BEOS locations in Munich, Stuttgart and Cologne. She has been with BEOS since 2020, most recently as head of the BEOS location in Munich from June 2020 to August 2022. Before the real estate economist and certified controller joined BEOS, she spent six years as an asset manager and project controller at Bayern Projekt GmbH, where she was responsible for major projects such as Bavaria Towers and the Olympia Business Center. Prior to that, Christina Schädler held a wide variety of positions in the project development and investment sector in Munich and London.

Corporate Solutions, Center of Competence Industrial & Logistics

 

Hendrik Staiger is a member of the Executive Board of Swiss Life Asset Managers Germany and as a member of the Executive Board at BEOS AG is responsible for Corporate Solutions, ESG and Digital Solutions. He also heads the Center of Competence Industrial & Logistics embodied by BEOS AG within Swiss Life Asset Managers. Hendrik Staiger is also Head of Industrial & Logistics at Swiss Life Asset Managers Germany and Managing Director of BEOS Logistics GmbH.

 

Staiger studied physics at the Technical University of Berlin and worked in research until 1997. He then worked in project development for nine years, including six as Managing Partner of LINIE Projektmanagement GmbH & Co. KG, which focused on the development and refurbishment of high-quality commercial properties in Berlin.

 

From 2005 until his appointment to the BEOS Executive Board in 2016, Staiger was Head of Acquisition. Staiger is Chairman of the Board of crenet Deutschland e.V. and regularly gives lectures and talks at the TU Berlin for the Master’s degree in Real Estate Management and at the University of Wuppertal, IREBS, DVFA and HTW Berlin.

Supervisory Board

Company founder Prof. Stephan Bone-Winkel continues to remain active for BEOS AG and together with Per Erikson (CEO of Swiss Life Asset Managers Germany) and Stefan Mächler (member of the Corporate Executive Board of the Swiss Life Group) forms the company’s Supervisory Board.

Per Erikson is CEO of Swiss Life Asset Managers Germany and has been a member of the Swiss Life Asset Managers Executive Board since 2015 and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BEOS AG since October 2020.

 

After studying economics at the University of Zurich, Per Erikson began his career at Credit Suisse Asset Management in 1997, before moving to Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie, where he served as relationship manager for Scandinavian institutional investors.

 

From 2002 until 2007 he worked as a portfolio manager and in various management positions at Winterthur Group Asset Management, finally as Head of Fixed Income.

 

In 2007 he came to Swiss Life Asset Managers as Senior Portfolio Manager. He then took on overall management and strategic development of the global fixed income portfolio as Senior Portfolio Manager Fixed Income at Arecon AG.

 

In 2010 Per Erikson returned to Swiss Life Asset Managers. In his function as Head of Corporate Bonds he was responsible for Swiss Life’s corporate bond portfolio in Switzerland and at its subsidiaries.

 

Between 2015 and 2018 Per Erikson was Chief Investment Officer Germany and between 2018 and 2020 Head of Proprietary Insurance Asset Management (PAM) France.

Professor Stephan Bone-Winkel (1965) is the founder of BEOS AG and serves as a Member of the Supervisory Board. He is also Managing Partner of BEOS Beteiligungs-GmbH & Co. KG and CEOS Investment GmbH.

 

He studied Business Administration at the University of Cologne and the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Paris. After his studies he initially developed retail real estate for his family, before serving as a research associate under Karl-Werner Schulte at the European Business School (EBS) in 1990, where he was among the first cohort to graduate from the school’s Real Estate Economics programme. From 1993 to 1995, he was responsible for establishing the EBS Real Estate Academy in Berlin as its Managing Director, and from 1995 to 1997 he was a property developer in Berlin for Deutsche Bank AG. He then founded BEOS at the end of 1997, together with two partners.

 

In 2003, Prof. Bone-Winkel was appointed to the Endowed Chair for Real Estate Development at the European Business School.

 

In 2006 he became Honorary Professor for Real Estate Development at the University of Regensburg (IREBS). Stephan Bone-Winkel has written and edited a host of publications on the subjects of real estate development, investment and asset management.

 

He is a founding member of the Society for Property Researchers, Germany (gif) and the EBS alumni association IMMOEBS e.V. He is also the co-editor of the ZIÖ German Journal of Real Estate Research and “Schriften zu Immobilienökonomie und Immobilienrecht” of IREBS. He is an active member of numerous committees and associations, including the ZIA German Property Federation’s Scientific Advisory Board, the Executive Committee of ULI Germany and the Advisory Board of EXPO REAL.

 

In 2014 he received the ULI Leadership Award in the Real Estate Industry category. Together with Ingo Holz, he was recognised as one of the “Leading Minds of the Real Estate Industry” by the trade magazine Immobilienmanager in 2015.

Stefan Mächler is a member of the Supervisory Board of BEOS AG. Since September 2014, he has been Group CIO and member of the Corporate Executive Board of the Swiss Life Group and of the Executive Board of Swiss Life Asset Managers.

 

After graduating in law from the University of St. Gallen, Stefan Mächler worked for Credit Suisse Group for 18 years in the fields of capital markets and asset management. After nine years abroad, which included various positions in Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul and Frankfurt, he returned to Switzerland in early 1999 as Managing Director of Sales & Marketing Europe and Switzerland for Credit Suisse Asset Management. At the same time, he was the driving force behind the foundation of the listed real estate company Swiss Prime Site AG, of which he was Chairman of the Board of Directors until 2005. He spent 2005 to 2009 with Deutsche Bank, where he was initially responsible for Family Offices in Switzerland, before taking over as CEO of Privatbank Rüd, Blass & Cie AG for the last two years. From 2009 to 2014, Stefan Mächler was Head of Asset Management at Swiss Mobiliar as a member of Group Management and Chief Investment Officer.
